Explore the history of the Slave River at Assin Manso. Wander through the male and female dungeons of Cape Coast Castle, and experience the harsh conditions endured by our African ancestors.

Journey west along the Ghanaian coast to Cape Coast. Stop at Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Site, where enslaved individuals took their final bath before being transported to the Americas. Learn about the harrowing history connected to the Slave River, known as “Donko Nsu.” Also, explore the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest slave-holding sites during the tragic era of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
